ILSoyAdvisor Social

Campaign Overview

ILSoyAdvisor joined twitter in April 2016 and at the beginning of FY20 had 1,670 followers. With 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois we are reaching just a fraction of our potential audience of growers, CCAs and industry stakeholders. The challenge is to expand to a wider audience so that we can reach more people with educational soybean management and sustainability information.

Utilizing a giveaway and paid follower campaign, we increased followers on the @ILSoyAdvisor Twitter handle by 18% in FY20 (Sept. 1, 2019 – Aug. 31, 2020). Giveaway posts appeared on other ISA social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Primary audiences include soybean growers in the state of Illinois, Certified Crop Advisers (CCAs) and agronomists. Secondary audiences include seed companies, sales representatives, agricultural media, and industry stakeholders. According to the recent User Experience Research, these audiences are “information seekers” looking for knowledge and evidence of the latest tools and technology within the industry to better their business and increase their profitability.
